My love of country inspired me to join the United States Military. As a member of Veterans Defending Democracy…

I am answering the call to serve once more.

I will protect the rights of Americans who are dismissed, discriminated against, harassed, bullied, and killed because of their race, religion, ability, or sexual identity.

I will work to keep extremist groups from intervening, overtly or covertly, in our society.

I understand that I am the visible conscience of a nation under attack.

I will not fail to support those who cannot defend themselves.

I promise to keep members of Defense of Democracy and my fellow Americans safe and out of harm’s way as they speak out against tyranny.

I am a steadfast guardian of American ideals, freedoms, and history. I will oppose censorship and defend the right to free speech.

I am defined by honor, courage, and commitment to my fellow Americans and our constitution.

I am an example of peaceful resistance and will amplify equality through peaceful means.

I promise to protect the weak and the meek, to safeguard and transmit to posterity the principles of justice, freedom, and democracy.

I will uphold the mission and values of Defense of Democracy.

I promise that my watch will never end.
